We invite you to the first educational series entitled \u201eFundraising in NGOs\u201d, led by experts from The Academy of Civil Society Organisations Foundation.<\/a> Over the course of three sessions, we\u2019ll introduce you to three topics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where and when?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The meetings take place in the space The Local Initiatives Club (KIL) in Mys\u0142owice<\/strong> at 18d Bytomska Street, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are full-day training courses delivered using the following methods workshops. Classes run from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm.<\/strong> Light refreshments will be provided during the training session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For whom?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We invite you to our meetings people who run non-governmental organisations or <\/strong>correspond to<\/strong> in them, for raising funds from Mys\u0142owice and elsewhere<\/strong>. Priority will be given to members of non-governmental organisations based in Mys\u0142owice and to those who commit to taking part in the entire educational programme. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We register via this form<\/a> up to and including 8 May. We will inform those who have been shortlisted of the opportunity to take part by 10 May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

15 May 2024 \u2013 Legal Aspects of Fundraising \u2013 Grzegorz Wiaderek<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main aim of the course will be to organise and expand participants\u2019 knowledge of the legal aspects of fundraising for their organisations. Participants will gain a better understanding of the legal provisions relating to selected fundraising methods and tools, and will learn how to apply them in practice. They will analyse and evaluate the legal arrangements in place within their organisations, and finally consider the scope of any necessary changes.
Key issues<\/strong>: Tax issues relating to the raising of funds for the organisation\u2019s activities.
Conditions for raising and spending 1.5% PIT. Crowdfunding, public fundraising, lotteries.
Public benefit activities and commercial activities. Donation agreements. Sponsorship and its restrictions. Barter agreements and cooperation agreements. Key elements of grant agreements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grzegorz Wiaderek<\/strong> \u2013 a member of the board and co-founder of the Institute of Law and Society. From 1999 to 2011, he was the coordinator of the Batory Foundation\u2019s Legal Programme. Author of publications on civil law, banking law and the law governing non-governmental organisations. Expert in the assessment of grant applications submitted under various programmes
grant schemes. A regular contributor to FAOO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

22 May 2024 \u2013 Fundraising other than grants \u2013 Andrzej Pietrucha<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the session, we will explore what non-grant fundraising is and tackle<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ll address the most common myths about fundraising for non-governmental organisations. Together, we\u2019ll answer questions on how to get started with non-grant fundraising within an organisation and what determines success in raising funds. We\u2019ll look at examples of successful fundraising campaigns. We will consider which fundraising techniques are worth implementing first and how to avoid mistakes.
Key issues<\/strong>: How can we build relationships with individual donors and businesses?
Donor segmentation. Crafting a fundraising appeal. Fundraising methods and techniques.
Campaign planning. Where and how can you learn about fundraising?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andrzej Pietrucha<\/strong> \u2013 trainer and fundraising expert. A graduate in History from the University of Warsaw, Charity Marketing and Fundraising at Cass Business School in London, and the STOP School for NGO Trainers. He has been involved with non-governmental organisations for nearly 20 years. Since 2016, he has been a member of the FAOO team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

28 May 2024 \u2013 Team management within an organisation \u2013 Piotr Henzler<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the training, participants will refresh and expand their knowledge of the factors
that influence the success of teams. They will have the opportunity to reflect on the reasons why teams do not always function as well as they would like. They will learn about different types of engagement and discover what actions can be taken to boost motivation at work. They will examine roles within a team and be able to assess how their leadership style affects team members\u2019 performance.
Key issues<\/strong>: Factors affecting team performance. Team dysfunctions
and their impact on team performance. The team map \u2013 team roles and their implications. Engagement and the engagement model. Leadership styles, management styles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Piotr Henzler<\/strong> \u2013 an educator, trainer and supervisor, and a sociologist specialising in the sociology of work organisation and management. He specialises in the management of non-governmental organisations, including team management and change management. He works with FAOO on a day-to-day basis and is a supervisor and member of the Association of Non-Governmental Organisation Trainers (STOP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training courses are co-funded by the Polish-American Freedom Foundation and the MOST Association\u2019s own funds.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
