Children and young people for the environment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In recent weeks, pupils at a school in Katowice took part in a unique grassroots initiative called. \u201eA Green Future for Young People \u2013 Together for the Environment and Our Class!\u201d<\/strong>. The main aim of the initiative was encouraging children and young people to get involved by engaging them in practical activities to protect the environment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative brought together environmental education combined with social integration and creative play<\/strong>. As part of the project, a number of activities were carried out to raise participants\u2019 environmental awareness and encourage them to take their own actions to protect nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Education, the environment and inclusion \u2013 implementation of the initiative<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  • Gardening workshops \u2013 planting plants<\/strong>
    The pupils learnt the basics of plant care and worked together to create a school garden. Planting the plants provided an opportunity to discuss biodiversity and the impact of green spaces on quality of life.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Eco-sewing \u2013 craft workshops<\/strong>
    The children made these themselves eco-friendly cushions made from recycled materials<\/strong>. The activities promoted the idea of reusing items and helped develop manual skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Art workshop: \u201eLet\u2019s Save Endangered Species\u201d<\/strong>
    The participants created artworks on the theme of endangered and extinct animal species<\/strong>, whilst learning about nature conservation and humanity\u2019s responsibility for the planet\u2019s future.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • \u201eComposting with Style\u201d \u2013 learning by doing<\/strong>
    A garden has been created in the school grounds compost bin<\/strong>. The pupils learnt what bio-waste is, what can be composted, and why composting is important for the environment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Water protection and the construction of water filters<\/strong>
    The children were building simple water filters made from natural materials<\/strong>, by learning how water treatment works and how to protect water resources in everyday life.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Eco-friendly picnic \u2013 project finale<\/strong>
    To round off the event, there was an eco-friendly picnic in the school garden<\/strong>. It was a time for socialising, creative fun and workshops on restoring and altering clothes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Aware and committed<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    By taking part in the initiative, the pupils they gained practical knowledge of the environment<\/strong>, developed their manual and teamwork skills, and bonded over shared goals. The project instilled a sense of responsibility for the environment<\/strong> and showed that even the youngest children can have a real impact on their surroundings \u2013 through their energy, creativity and commitment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Organiser and implementer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The event is organised by MOST Association<\/strong>. The implementer, as part of the local initiative, is initiative group<\/strong> represented by Ma\u0142gorzata Nuzikowska<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
