The MOST Association, in partnership with the Foundation for the Development of Social Economy and the International Centre for Psychological Assistance, is implementing the project „FAMIlok - integration and adaptation of foreigners in the Silesian Voivodeship”, co-financed by the European Union under the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (FAMI).
The aim of the project is the social, educational and professional integration of 600 third-country nationals (TCNs) legally residing in the Silesian Voivodeship between 2026 and 2028. The project responds to the identified needs of migrants and the challenges faced by local institutions and communities by offering a comprehensive integration programme, implemented in both large cities and smaller towns in the region.
The project objectives will be realised through the implementation of a coherent package of activities including:
- Integration and social support - adaptation activities, intercultural workshops, integration events and civic awareness courses,
- learning Polish - language courses at A1/A2 and B1/B2 levels, adapted to the age and needs of participants,
- Legal support - providing information, advice and support in residence and labour legalisation processes,
- psychological and specialised support - individual counselling and activities to enhance mental wellbeing,
- vocational support - career guidance, job placement, competency-based training and support for recognition of qualifications gained outside the EU.
The project is aimed at third-country nationals who:
- do not hold the nationality of any European Union country or of countries such as Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Switzerland,
- are legally residing on the territory of the Republic of Poland (excluding persons staying in centres for foreigners and in the return procedure),
- live or work in the Silesian Voivodeship,
- are refugees, economic migrants, students or persons under other forms of international protection, in particular:
- Ukrainian citizens (especially women with children),
- migrants from Belarus, Georgia, Russia, Moldova and other former Eastern Bloc countries,
- migrants from India and South-East Asian countries,
- other OPT groups, including men under 45 years of age with a secondary or higher education.
In addition, the project includes activities targeting public institutions, schools and organisations working for migrants, including staff training, networking activities and support in implementing local integration solutions.
The project will result in the improvement of the social and professional situation of the participants, an increase in language and civic competences, increased access to the labour market and the strengthening of the capacity of local institutions to work with foreigners. The direct result will be a better integration of the TCNs into the host community and an increase in their independence and life stability.
The project is implemented under the Fund for Asylum, Migration and Integration (FAMI).
