NGO Festival 2016 - neighbourhoods act, neighbourhoods play

The next edition of the NGO Festival (9-10 September 2016) in Katowice is coming soon. This is a special event both for organisations working in the third sector in Katowice and for the city's residents.

The first day of the Festival is a training and workshop block for NGO representatives. The workshops planned will cover the widest possible range of topics, from raising funds, through the development of promotional activities using social media, to the use of new technologies. A panel discussion on local activism in our city is also planned. Representatives of Silesian NGOs will be involved in running the workshops and will share their experience and knowledge. However, people do not live by action alone. Immediately after the workshop, there will be an integration meeting, during which there will be time to talk together, exchange experiences and simply be with each other.

During the second day, an NGO town will be set up. On 10 September, from 12:00, Katowice-based organisations will present themselves and their activities to the residents of Katowice in a creative and imaginative way. The organisers hope that each organisation will prepare interesting activities, workshops and competitions especially for this day. In a fun atmosphere, there will be time to get to know each other - not through posters or a website, but through the opportunity to meet and talk.

Details of the programme for both days will soon be available at http://www.fopkatowice.pl and on its Facebook profile https://www.facebook.com/katowicefop/.

This year's event organisers are: The City of Katowice, the Association for the Support of Non-Governmental Organisations „MOST” and the Local Initiative Factory Association.

The Festival of Non-Governmental Organisations is co-financed by the budget of the City of Katowice.
