Main objectives project:
- activation and support for informal groups and small NGOs as well as civic dialogue bodies in Katowice,
- improving social self-organisation,
- the growing importance of the civil sector in public life.
Project is addressed to all residents of Katowice, who are interested in becoming involved in public policy-making, and in particular to:
- NGOs,
- active residents of Katowice,
- representatives of Katowice's civic dialogue bodies, i.e. the public benefit council, senior citizens, ON and the city's youth council and district council.
Activities will contribute to increasing the participation of 220 residents in the shaping of public policies until 30 November 2024.
NEWFIO includes 6 well-thought-out and well-planned paths:
- Developing standards for communication with the public:
- co-creation of public policies,
- preparation of local standards in cooperation with representatives of the local community,
- a description of the standards and tools needed to implement the developed standards;
- School of communication:
- preparing NGO representatives to support local activists in communicating using new technologies,
- training courses addressing the topics of needs and objectives, counselling skills, communication standards, remote working tools, participation in law-making and communication (with particular emphasis on soft skills),
- graduation from communications school will provide the opportunity to start as a communications professional;
- Provision of tools:
- preparing the technical infrastructure needed by NGOs during a pandemic,
- the creation of a platform for cooperation between organisations,
- obtaining support from specialists in IT;
- Participation in communication with the public:
- undertake animation activities to encourage organisations to participate in local policy-making and problem diagnosis,
- Supporting communication specialists during their work in the field, motivating them, monitoring their work and providing support to advisors,
- meetings of local organisations and city-wide meetings;
- Animation of civil dialogue bodies:
- advice and consultation meetings for NGOs and Katowice's district councils on, among other things, how to organise the consultation process,
- networking meetings for civil dialogue councils and NGOs;
- Evaluation of the various stages of the project:
- evaluation of the standards development process and preparation of tools,
- evaluation of the preparation of communication professionals (school and counselling),
- evaluation of animation and participatory local law-making activities.

In addition, activities on communication standards, tools and online events will be available to organisations from all over Poland.
