NGO Festival 2016 - neighbourhoods act, neighbourhoods play
The next edition of the Non-Governmental Organisations Festival (9–10 September 2016) in Katowice is coming up soon. This is a special event both for organisations operating in the third sector in Katowice and for the city’s residents.
The first day of the Festival will consist of a series of training sessions and workshops for representatives of non-governmental organisations. The planned workshops will cover as wide a range of topics as possible, from fundraising, through the development of promotional activities using social media, to the use of new technologies. A panel discussion on local community activities in our city is also planned. Representatives of Silesian NGOs will be leading the workshops, sharing their experience and knowledge. However, people don’t live by action alone. Immediately after the workshops, there will be a social gathering, during which there will be time for conversation, sharing experiences and simply spending time together.
On the second day, an NGO village will be set up. On 10 September from 12:00, Katowice-based organisations will present themselves and their work to the city’s residents in a creative and imaginative way. The organisers hope that each organisation will prepare interesting activities, workshops and competitions especially for this day. In a fun-filled atmosphere, there will be time to get to know one another – not through posters or websites, but by meeting face-to-face and having a chat.
Details of the programme for both days will be available on the website shortly http://www.fopkatowice.pl and on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/katowicefop/.
This year’s organisers of the event are: the City of Katowice, the „MOST” Association for the Support of Non-Governmental Organisations, and the Local Initiatives Factory Association.
The Non-Governmental Organisations Festival is co-funded from the budget of the City of Katowice.
