On 1 January 2011, the project „Region of Active Organisations – establishing mobile information and support centres for NGOs in the Silesian Voivodeship” was launched. It is being implemented in partnership by the „MOST” Association for the Support of Non-Governmental Organisations, the Centre for the Development of Social Initiatives (CRIS) and the Silesian Forum of Non-Governmental Organisations (KaFOS). The project will run until the end of 2012 and will cover 10 districts in the Silesian Voivodeship: Będzin, Bielsko, Bieruń-Lędziny, Rybnik, the district of Bytom, Jastrzębie Zdrój, Mysłowice, Piekary Śląskie, Siemianowice Śląskie and Tychy.
The main objective of this project is to strengthen the capacity of the non-governmental organisation sector in the Silesian Voivodeship by facilitating access to infrastructure services and individual support for at least 120 non-governmental organisations. To this end, in areas where there is a lack of support centres, mobile information and support centres for non-governmental organisations will be set up and will operate until 31 December 2012.
The aim of the project is to support new initiatives in the form of new organisations or action programmes in areas where there is a lack of organisational activity, as well as to boost the motivation and capacity of existing organisations to make use of the support provided.
As part of the project, organisations will receive tailored support based on a prior analysis of their needs.
This project is co-financed by the European Social Fund under Priority V of the Human Capital Operational Programme. Good governance, Measure 5.4: Development of the third sector’s potential, Sub-measure 5.4.2: „Development of civil dialogue”.
