We have launched the SpilnoHUB - UNICEF Katowice!

What is the Spilno Hub Centre – UNICEF Katowice? 

It is a space designed to foster integration between the Polish and refugee communities, established under an agreement between the City of Katowice and the United Nations Children’s Fund – UNICEF. The Centre operates as a community café. The Centre’s activities consist of to engage participants and promote their integration.

The Centre is currently based at 5–7–9 Morcinka Street in Katowice

What sort of help can you find here?

  • You will find information about the activities taking place in Katowice, whose aim is to organise support and integrationespecially for children and young people;
  • You’ll be able to use the inclusive café;
  • Children will enjoy the activities in the play area;
  • Children and young people will be able to make use of a small library containing Ukrainian-language literature;
  • You will find psychological support;
  • You can seek advice on legal matters, speech therapy, education, psychology and career guidance, as well as assistance with day-to-day and administrative matters in Katowice;
  • Children and young people will benefit from Polish language lessons, private tuition as required, or classes designed to help them overcome difficulties in mastering specific skills and acquiring knowledge;
  • The Centre will host workshops, information sessions and physical activities for parents and carers of children;
  • You will take part in workshops on combating discrimination and violence, health education for children and young people – including the prevention of teenage pregnancy, healthy eating, cultural differences, building self-confidence, and the prevention of addiction to psychoactive substances, alcohol and nicotine;
  • We can assist you with Polish-Ukrainian and Ukrainian-Polish translations.
