Environmental education in practice

As part of the project 10.24 The social transformation of Katowice A grassroots initiative entitled. „EKO Kompas”, the aim of which was to promote pro-environmental attitudes and provide environmental education to the residents of Katowice.

A series of workshops – education in practice

On days 23, 25 and 30 April, and 9 and 16 May the initiative group carried out 5 environmental workshops, which took place at the following premises:

  • Catholic Foundation for Children,
  • The „Gniazdo” Foundation for People in Need”.

Participants learnt how to look after the environment in their everyday lives: how to reduce waste, reuse materials and take simple steps to help the climate.

Information board on Andrzej Square

The highlight of the initiative was installation of an eco-friendly information board, which came to a standstill 30 June at Andrzej Square in Katowice. The notice serves an educational purpose – it provides practical advice and encourages passers-by to adopt a responsible approach to environmental protection.

Organiser and implementer

The event is organised by MOST Association. The implementer, as part of the local initiative, is initiative group represented by Dominika Słodkiewicz.

The steering group comprises: Dominik Słodkiewicz, Marta Dymowska, Illia Hladun, Alicja Strużek, Jarosław Bąk and Jan Tracz.
