Saturday, 26 April, as part of the grassroots initiative of the „Social Transformation of Katowice” project, we met at 17 Piastów Street in Katowice for a workshop entitled „Turn instead of throwing away”, where, together with Hm Paweł Krawczyk's 32nd Scout Water Team We pickled radishes and talked about ways to reduce food waste.
During the workshop:
- We learned the basics of fermentation and safe pickling of radishes,
- we learned how to plan our shopping and use surplus vegetables instead of throwing them away,
- We were inspired by zero-waste cuisine, based on respect for food.
The workshop was led by Łukasz Kocur, who showed how to pickle crispy radishes from simple ingredients available in the home kitchen and prevent food waste.
Organiser and implementer
The event is organised by MOST Association. The implementer, as part of a local initiative, is initiative group, represented by Dawid Malczak.
This event was part of a series of „Food - a good I respect”.” - because we believe that good things are worth doing together. It was a great opportunity to learn how to counter food waste in a practical and tasty way.
