Saturday, 19 April, as part of the project's bottom-up initiatives „Social Transformation of Katowice”.”, we met at the COP Katowice at 7 Wita Stwosza Street to jointly... sow the theme of not wasting food!
Workshop „Put a twist on it instead of throwing it away”.”, carried out as part of the cycle „Food - a good I respect”.”, was dedicated not only to the practice of pickling, but also to talking about how we can make better use of what we have - with care for the planet, tradition and our health.
During the workshop:
- we learned about the process of pickling radishes, cucumbers and homemade kimchi,
- we learnt how fermentation helps to preserve the freshness of products and reduce waste,
- we talked about why it is important to make preserves together - generationally, locally and with a smile.
The meeting was chaired by Łukasz Kocur, who passionately shared his knowledge and experience, showing that pickling is not only a tradition, but also a modern form of organic cooking.
