Let’s Have a Chat – poster for the meeting

„Let Your Body Speak” – free workshops for everyone on 14 April 2023.

We’d like to invite you to some free workshops where you’ll learn how to listen to your own body.
The workshops are organised as part of the „Meetings at No. 14” initiative.

About the workshops

You’re standing on stage. You feel alternately cold and hot. You look at the audience, and they look at you.
Your arms point forwards. Your hands are behind them. Slowly, you clasp your hands together across your chest in an unbreakable grip. Your head tilts downwards and your neck slowly tucks in between your shoulders. Your legs feel as though they’re made of cotton wool. You keep them close together so they don’t shake. You glance shyly first at your audience, then at the floor.

And that thought: „How on earth do I come out with something sensible?”

Do you want to come across like that? Probably not! Do you want to learn how to adopt a posture that will support you and boost your confidence? Do you want to maintain natural eye contact with your audience? Do you want to move around the stage without losing your train of thought? Do you want to control your hand gestures so that they support you?
Would you like to learn some simple ways to use gestures and props? Would you like your facial expressions to convey empathy and enthusiasm?

If you answered „YES” to even one of these questions, then this workshop is for you. Together, we’ll practise:

  • developing good posture;
  • maintaining eye contact;
  • moving around the stage;
  • gestures and the use of gadgets;
  • a friendly facial expression.

Host

The workshop will be led by Paweł Ślimok.
His job involves finding the right people for the right roles. As he himself admits, „I am constantly discovering more about myself and searching for work that will bring me joy, fulfilment and a sense of personal satisfaction. And, importantly, a sense that my time has been well spent’
”time and energy".

He has been active in Toastmasters for nearly 7 years. During this time, he has supported the club as Vice-President for Public Relations (2019–20) and Vice-President for Membership (2021–22). He focuses on non-verbal communication, conveying emotion and professionalism on stage. He can be surprising at times. In his private life, he is a calm, balanced and cheerful introvert. A dreamy idealist. A collector of DVD films. A lover of film music who is not averse to a pleasant contemporary tune. He loves being surrounded by castles, palaces and mountains. He has a broad interest in personal development, particularly spirituality, personality, lifestyles and the meaning of life.
