The next initiative under the „Seniorze wpółpracujeMY!” project, entitled ”Seniors for Good Care for Seniors”, is getting underway” 
One elderly person caring for another – usually a parent or relative – is a difficult topic that is often overlooked in public discourse. Our senior citizens have recognised this! 
If you know someone who looks after an elderly person (e.g. a close or distant relative) and who is often aged 50 or over, or 60 or over, be sure to tell them about this event. 
The programme for the initiative is as follows:
INAUGURATION
On 29 November 2024, between 11.00 and 13.00 at 7 W. Stwosza Street, in Room 16, an inaugural lecture will be held entitled ‘How can we provide systemic support for carers of people with dementia?’
The lecturer will be Dr Urszula Kłosińska – a psychologist and lecturer at SWPS.
Training schedule: at 7 W. Stwosza Street (MOPS – rooms allocated to COP), room 16 or 26, from 10.00 to 12.00:
4 December 2024. Lecture by Geriatrician Paulina Dębowska – Geriatric challenges in the care of older people.
6 December 2024. Lecture and workshops (practical sessions) by physiotherapist Magdalena Jantos – Fall prevention, support with walking and personal hygiene (for various types of illnesses).
9 December 2024: Lecture and workshop by Joanna Czerwiec, a nurse at the Social Care Home – How to care for and prevent health problems in bedridden patients, and ways of caring for people with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
11 December 2024: concluding lecture – Dr Urszula Kłosińska – Caregiver emotional burnout. Chronic grief.
Those attending the final sessions of the programme will receive a support pack for family carers of older people (including post-training materials, a leaflet or a book on the topic of the sessions).
