We have concluded the first edition of the „Youth in Action: Katowice Youth Grants 2026” project. This is a completely new initiative – there has never been a programme of this kind for young people in our city before. The response from young people in Katowice has been fantastic – it proves that they are creative, keen to get involved, take action and make a difference to their local community.
A quick round-up of this edition:
- 19 offers – that’s how many ideas we received from young people aged 13–25 in Katowice.
- 7 grants – that is how many projects received funding.
- 40,000 zł – this is the total amount we are allocating to carry out these activities.
We very much regret that the total funding available is only 40,000 zł. We would have been happy to award far more grants – the ideas submitted were really good. The members of the assessment panel debated the selection at length – they assessed the quality of the planned activities, the commitment of the members of the youth groups. It wasn’t an easy choice, so we’d like to thank all the groups once again for taking part and for their tremendous commitment!
All of the funded initiatives will be carried out in Katowice between September and December 2026. The planned activities are aimed at pupils at schools in Katowice. The young people have prepared projects that will help them develop their interests, learn new things and simply enjoy their time.
