Partnership: The Forum of Non-Governmental Organisations Working on Behalf of People with Disabilities, the Sick and Their Families, known as „RAZEM”, in collaboration with the MOST Association for the Support of Non-Governmental Organisations and the FORUM Social Cooperative
The aim of the project is to maintain and enhance the independence of 100 people aged 60 and over, including those with disabilities, living in Zabrze and the surrounding area, by providing the following forms of support:
- Day Care Centre
- Neighbourly assistance and activities that promote mutual intergenerational support through volunteering.
Day Care Centre – 24 Bytomska Street, Zabrze Biskupice:
The services provided by the Day Centre from 8.00–16.00 (Monday–Friday), tailored to the needs of the 30 older people attending at any one time, include, amongst other things, support with:
– welfare provisions, including meals and leisure time
– educational, cultural and educational, sporting and recreational,
– rehabilitation
– promoting social engagement (including intergenerational volunteering),
– personal development – coaching.
Neighbourly assistance provided on a voluntary basis:
Assistance provided on a regular basis by 10 older people trained as volunteers – support will be provided to no fewer than 40 people aged 60 and over who are unable to look after themselves, including those with disabilities. The service includes neighbourhood support packages designed to cover the costs of visits to cultural institutions, leisure and sports facilities, and other venues that help improve the social well-being of older people.
