The project aims to support the District Councils operating in Katowice in their dealings with non-governmental organisations and other bodies involved in civic dialogue.
As part of the project, we plan to develop and implement three tools for district councils, which will relate to:
- establishing guidelines for cooperation between District Councils and civil dialogue bodies (such as the Public Benefit Council, the Seniors’ Council, the cycling policy team, etc.), which will enable them to adopt common positions and improve communication;
- to draw up a catalogue of measures to streamline consultations on planned activities in the districts, including consultation tools, consultations on amendments to the statutes, etc.;
- to facilitate the assessment of local initiatives by developing a standard opinion form to be used by all councils.
As part of the project, we plan, amongst other things, to:
- preparing and developing tools during seven meetings of a team comprising representatives of the District Councils (around 20 people);
- organising meetings in each of Katowice’s district councils;
- the organisation of a two-day residential workshop for 40 people;
- meetings between district councillors and civil dialogue bodies;
- the opportunity to engage with non-governmental organisations through the participation of District Councils in the Non-Governmental Organisations Festival;
- the preparation and distribution of the publication to district councillors.
We want this project to contribute as much as possible to the development of civil society in Katowice.
We encourage all district councils to get involved in the project. We invite anyone interested to visit the Katowice District Councils’ Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/rady.dzielnic/) or to get in touch with the project team.
