„The New Senior” – educational materials

We are delighted to present the results of the project „New Senior”, carried out as part of the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme, project no. 2024-2-PL01-KA210-ADU.

The project was the result of 18 months of cooperation by the Polish-Czech working group, which comprised coaches, experts and senior players from Poland and the Czech Republic. Together, we created a modern and practical set of educational materials which support older people in using new technologies, the internet and artificial intelligence safely and with confidence.

The aim of the project was to promote the concept of lifelong learning, to empower older people and to combat digital exclusion amongst those aged 60 and over in a rapidly changing world.

What do the teaching materials contain?

The textbooks, training materials and multimedia resources produced include, amongst other things:

Using the Internet and computers safely

The materials cover practical guidelines on digital hygiene, creating strong and secure passwords, protecting personal data, and ways to recognise online scams and disinformation.

A Practical Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Older people can learn what chatbots and AI tools such as Gemini and ChatGPT are, as well as how to create effective prompts that help with everyday life, communication and finding information.

Educational leaflets to download

Clear information materials entitled „Golden Rules of Safety” have been produced and are available in three languages.

Video resources on digital security

The instructional videos contain practical advice on how to use the internet and digital devices safely, and how to protect yourself from online threats.

Video tutorials on AI

These educational videos demonstrate how artificial intelligence can be used in the everyday lives of older people. The materials have been produced in three languages.

Intercultural scenarios

A range of ready-to-use exercises and tools have been developed to support the integration of foreign nationals into local communities, including the „Buddy” model, which helps to break down social and cultural barriers.

Original lesson plans for teaching staff

Professional scenarios for meetings and workshops have been drawn up for trainers, activity leaders and social workers working with the over-60s.

Cognitive training

The materials include a set of exercises designed to support brain activity, memory, concentration and logical thinking in older people.

International cooperation and the exchange of experiences

All the materials were developed by experts from the MOST Association in Poland and KCS Ostrava in the Czech Republic. They were produced on the basis of an exchange of best practice, joint educational activities and direct work with older people.

This collaboration has resulted in practical tools that can be used both during group sessions, workshops and training courses, as well as in one-to-one work with older people.
