Got an idea? Go for it!
Are you aged between 13 and 25, live or study in Katowice and want to revitalise your school or local community?
This is your moment! A grant competition is launching, in which young people will decide what happens in the town. It is organised by Mayor of Katowice, and the whole operation is being coordinated by MOST Association.
„Youth in Action. Katowice Youth Grants 2026”.” - is a programme designed to give voice and space to the young generation. We want the youth of Katowice to decide what is interesting in their immediate surroundings.
What’s this all about, and what can you do?
Our aim is unleashing your social energy, support for your own projects and help in developing your passions. Get a team together (between 3 and 8 people) and set up an informal youth group (important: at least one person must live in Katowice).
Stuck for ideas? Here are a few examples of activities you could submit:
- Events and team-building: an e-sports or basketball tournament, a concert by local bands, a board games evening, an open-air cinema or photography workshops.
- Developing a passion: equipping and developing the school drama club, debate club, school newspaper or podcast; supporting the activities of the school volunteering club or student council initiatives,
- Improving spaces: creating a relaxation area at school (e.g. with beanbags and games), a green corner on the patio, or a modern waste sorting system.
Please remember that the project must be carried out in Katowice and aimed at pupils at local primary or secondary schools! Plan to put your ideas into practice in the autumn – projects can be implemented from 1 September to 13 December 2026.
What is your budget?
The competition prize fund totals as much as 40,000 zł, and you can receive from 1,000 zł to as much as 10,000 zł! Best of all – you don’t have to worry about invoices, contracts with contractors or bank transfers. The MOST Association will take care of all the paperwork and pay all your project expenses directly.
How do I apply? (The essentials in a nutshell)
- Please complete the official application form: You must describe your idea on a special form (you will find the project proposal form in Appendix 1 to the Rules and Regulations).
- Parental consent: If your team includes minors (under 18), you must attach written consent from a parent or legal guardian to your application (Appendix 2).
- Time is running out: The call for applications is now open 9 June 2026 at 12:00 and lasts until 30 June 2026, by 7.00 pm.
- Where should I submit it? You have two options: bring a paper copy signed by your group leader to the MOST offices (Centre for Non-Governmental Organisations, 14 Kopernika Street, Room 3) or send it by email (signed using a trusted profile) to the following address: m.skupien-lisgarten@mostkatowice.pl.
How will we choose the best projects?
All applications will be assessed by a special committee comprising representatives of the City Council, the MOST Association and the Katowice Youth City Council. First, we will check whether the application has all the necessary signatures and approvals (formal assessment), and then we will evaluate the idea itself (substantive assessment). The projects with the highest scores will be implemented until the funds run out! We will announce the results within 14 days of the Committee completing its work.
